Her experience ranges from runway makeup (participating backstage for NYC Fashion Week,) to soft and subtle bridal makeup, to makeup for global business leaders in her work for Harvard Business School/Harvard Business Review. Alice currently works for MAC Cosmetics, and is getting ready to head to NYC for fashion week, in just a few short weeks!!
Q: How did you get your start in the makeup industry?
A: I’ve had an interest in makeup from a young age. I remember standing next to my mother while she was in the mirror applying her makeup, staring and getting in lost in what she was doing. When I was a freshman in college, I decided that I wanted to explore makeup artistry and to assisted a woman who had an existing on-location wedding business. I assisted her for a short while and then applied for a job at MAC – a brand I had been in love with since I started to use makeup.
Q: What do you love about makeup artistry?
A: I love creating. What do I love about it? Its conceptualizing, its planning, its painting. You can create an image that you visualize in your mind. A concept isn’t palpable, its a vision and idea of the mind. So, to see your concept come into the physical world is true creation. There is something that is so otherworldly about that.
Q: What type of experience do you want to bring to brides on their special day?
A: I want brides to feel the way they are supposed to feel on their wedding day. They should feel a sense of confidence that will allow their natural radiance to shine through, which is stronger than the makeup itself.
Q:What are some products you can’t live without?
A: Products I cannot live without is Blacktrack Fluidline, Studio Fix Fluid, #187, #224 brushes, Carbon and Brun eye shadows for brows, Mineralize Skinfinish and Painterly Paint Pot.
Q: How about your skincare routine?
I love Mario Badescu’s Glycolic Acid Toner, I’ve been using pure Olive Oil to remove and moisturize my eye area and that’s been great, and MAC’s Volcanic Ash Exfoliator!

I think doing an artist spotlight is a great way to get inspired, learn about new products, and learn from fellow artists!
Look out for the next one !
